Guacamole is an avocado-based dip that has it’s origin with the Aztecs in Mexico. In addition to its use in modern Mexican cuisine it has also become part of American cuisine as a dip, condiment and salad ingredient.
The Recipe is easy. All you really need for guacamole is a ripe avocado and salt. Mash it all up and a little lime or lemon juice to add a splash of acidity to balance the richness of the avocado. Then you can add chopped cilantro, chiles, onion, and tomato, and serve with tortilla chips.
